In a surprising crossover event that defies conventional predictions, the game developer has unveiled an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, including free additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Revealed
According to the authorized announcement, "A mysterious confrontation leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where rumors of prohibited ceremonies and fearsome changes reverberate through the shadows." The narrative introduces a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a secret sect.
The questline concentrates on "peculiar tests and a fearsome foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Transformations
The trailer features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer concludes with a dramatic scene showing a character, probably the captive, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Additional Content
Players who finish the quest will acquire an exclusive katana together with several objects concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Unique weapons

Third Free Story Addition
This release also adds the game's latest no-cost story addition, titled "The Enigma."
